The One World Futbol Project
If you’re reading this, odds are you’re a football fan. If you’re not, you certainly know someone who is a football fan. So you know as well as anyone the happiness the game can bring someone. A kickabout with friends, or even just watching a small boy or girl smile as they kick a football around the garden brings untold joy.
It seems Chevrolet know this too, and are trying to bring the same happiness to people who really deserve it. The American car maker has joined forces with The One World Futbol Project (OWFP) to really make a difference to the health and well-being of millions of children around the world. Chevrolet is committed to donate 1.5 million virtually indestructible soccer balls over the next three years that will positively impact the lives of more than 20 million people in need around the world. These futbols, balls that never need to be inflated and can still be used after being punctured, will provide the power of play to youth in war-stricken zones, refugee camps, disaster areas, and other disadvantaged communities around the world.
I for one love the thought of a football bringing true joy and happiness to the youth who really deserve it.The video below shows the founder of the project Sting and the inventor of the ball, Tim Jahnigen, discussing the ball and the project in more detail.
Anyway, the point of this was for me to bring your attention to the OWFP’s “Buy One, Give One” program. For each ball purchased, Chevrolet will donate an extra ball to the project. For further information on the OWFP as well as information on buying one of these footballs, please click here.
I hope you’ll join me in buying a ball, and I’ll bring you more information about Chevrolet’s initiative as it continues to grow.
